Wagon Wheel

The wagon wheel now sits broken in the barn,
Grandma no longer spins her own yarn.
The fields are no longer plowed by mule,
And the kids not longer have to walk to school.
The old ways of the farmers were unsurpassed,
But are they really in the past?
Cherish memories from long ago,
Tell the stories so as a seed they will grow.
And we will never forget the times when,
The land was open and before bed each night we said amen!

Psalm 83:13

  O my God, make them like a wheel;
as the stubble before the wind.

The Black Eyed Susan

The attraction of a daisy's bloom,
Has the alluring effect of sweet perfume,
When you see them wild in a field,
It's hard not to keep your eyes peeled.
They seem to grow in a bountiful pack,
So you'll want to admire from way back.
The Black Eyed Susan is a sweet treasure,
Take time to enjoy them with great pleasure.

Song of Solomon 2:12

 The flowers appear on the earth;
the time of the singing of birds is come,
and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;

" Please take time to share with your friends or leave a comment!"

The Stumble

The steps may be old, chunky and bumpy,
The stones may be ragged, knotted, and lumpy.
They've withstood a lot through the years,
But little has changed it appears.
Built strong to withstand their decline,
Like God's everlasting word divine.
Going along the way you fumble,
It's good to know God won't let you stumble.

Proverbs 4:12

 When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened;
and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.

"SUMMER"

The white flower blooms is summer's sun,
The humid heat comes when the morning's done.
The days get longer with the passing hour,
As we sit and long for a rain shower.
The days will begin shorten again,
About the time fall begins slip in.
Until then we'll all enjoy the efflorescence,
This glorious season presents.

Luke 21:30

When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your
own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

Just Knock!!

Rays of sunshine shinning from above.
Gives you a lot of things to think of,
Is it a sign from heaven's door?
If it truly is it's not one to ignore.
Heaven's Gates are open wide,
And they will let you inside.
Just stand at the door and knock,
Come  in and join his flock.

Revelation 3:20

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock:
if any man hear my voice, and open the door,
I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Let your heart not be troubled....

Is it a storm or is it sunshine?
It's hard to say with the clouds intertwined.
It's almost like the entangled spiral of a mystery book,
You really don't know which way to look.
But just like with God's promise told,
Let your heart believe and the story will unfold.
Because if it is a storm that is forthcoming,
Be not troubled or succumbing.

John 14:1

Let not your heart be troubled:
ye believe in God, believe also in me.

The Word

B-Believing in the Word!
I- Inspiring verses.
B-Blessing's with every scripture.
L-Loving  Father, Son & Holy Spirit
E-Encouraging Words

It means a lot of things to a lot of people,
The word is told in God's Temple.
It doesn't have to be old,
For the Word of  God's to be told.
You'll find the Word of God  in countless places,
But the best place to find God's Word is on people's faces.

John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

What do you See?

I looked out this window and what did I see,

A tiny little tree staring back at me.
How long do you think it will take it to grow,
To shade the grass and yard down below?
Today the sun shines on it sunny and bright,
Tonight it'll be glowing in the moonlight.
That's what I see when I look out this window view,
Now why don't you tell me what you see too?

Proverbs 7:6

For at the window of my house I looked through my casement

The Rails

When you hear the whistle of a train blow,
It takes you back to a era long ago.
When the rails were the only way from town to town,
At each intersection the conductor would blare his signal down.
Jesse James achieved his fame,
From robbing some of those passenger trains.
Next time you cross these bumpy tracks,
Let it take you back.
With a long look down these rails,
And remember some of these tall tales.

"Roots"

You may go on a hike to enjoy the attraction of the tree,
But a tree wouldn't be with out the sweet harmony.
Of the roots that keep them held strong,
Nor would they get shine all the day long.
Some roots you never see they as they are buried deep in the ground.
Others lie on top in a spiral mound.
But some of the strongest roots I  get to see,
Are the one's that twist off my Family Tree!

Daniel 4:26

  And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots;
thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee,
after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.

A House is a Home

The roof may be rusty,
The walls may smell musty,
The porch may be stained,
And the grass some rain.
Although some may think the place wasting away,
The one's who live here are planning to stay.
When you make a house a home you must agree,
It's perfect to the highest degree.

1 Kings 6:9

  So he built the house, and finished it;
and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.

The County Store

Where have all the Country Store's gone?
The one's on the corner right near your home?
The store you'd visit & they'd great you by name,
Hello, Thank you, Come again! the owner would exclaim.
Now all these places are posted a with signs,
All wrapped up with fences and grown up with vines,
I would give you every "chain" store in America today,
If we could get back a memory that this old store provided in just one day.

Never miss the opportunity to stop take a picture of
these old stores and places that are almost gone.  Try to find
someone who can give you some history about the place because
years from now when things are all long gone all we'll have are
our memories and stories.  Keep a photo log or "Blog"
Feel free to leave comments below Good or Bad!!!

The river flows as it twists and turns,
It stretches for miles but never returns.
It sees many things all along its long spiraling way,
Trees, grass, fish & people are things it passes by most every day.
The river cuts through the earth and rocks as it flows,
Where it ends up only no body really knows.
But if at anytime you'd like to see where my venture my end,
Just grab a boat, raft or just jump in i'll take you for a little spin.

Job 28:10

 He cutteth out rivers among the rocks;
and his eye seeth every precious thing.

The Old Organ

The Old Rugged Cross  it use to play,
As grandma use to sing "On a hill far away"
The  Old Organ now sits in the corner silent with only a book,
As you pass by to take a look.
The pedals pumped away as she sang,
Oh what graceful hymns this old thing rang.
The songs we sang were from the heart,
But the words that were written were a work of art.
Like this Old Organ here,
We need to hold them dear.

Job 21:12

They take the timbrel and harp,
and rejoice at the sound of the organ.

What do you see when you look at my wings.
Is it the loveliness it brings?
Or is it the symmetric loops,
That on each pedal smoothly swoops?
Is it the veins that runs each strand?
I've been told everything is Mystic and Grand.
What every you see in me I thank you to know,
It's with God's gentle hand that gave me what I have you to show.

I'm one of God's little green creatures,
With my own distinctive features,
All God's creation's are made after his own kind,
But In my case I really don't mind,
I get to rejoice in the artistry of this yellow sprout,
But not for long you see for soon i'll have to fly out.

Genesis 1:24

And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature
after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast
of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

The Moon and all It's Glory!

The moon is the sky at night
But it's not always black and white.
Sometimes you see it all a glow
Other times in painting's from Van Gogh.
Man once walked upon this mighty place,
Way up there in outer space.
Oh what a big news story,
The Moon and all It's Glory!

1 Corinthians 15:41

There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon,
and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

Broken Fence

The fence is broken we don't know why?
You can contemplate as you pass by,
Was it the wind, the rain, or just plain ole time,
That's the main cause of this victim-less crime?
We see these fences less and less,
But I think they are a beautiful addition to any landscape nevertheless.
We should make every effort to restore these old picket rails,
so we can enjoy them along these broken trails.

The Field

 The flowers of the field,
Oh what beauty they do yield,
With the mountains so far away,
Why don't you just stay here and play?
You can sit and listen to the crickets sing,
or watch the butterfly's flutter their wings.
Spread a blanket for a feast.
this you can do at the very least.
Either way you should spend the day enjoying the allure,
of nature's exquisiteness that's for sure.

Psalm 103:15

As for man, his days are as grass:
as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

The Heart of a Rose

You love to watch a rose grow up the vine
each one different as they intertwine.
 These splendid vintage pink roses,
Have constructed a heart under our noses.
The graceful way they've decided to grow,
exhibit the elegance they bestow.
But if it's your own heart that's hard as wood.
 Be not overcome of evil,
but overcome evil with good.

Romans 12:21
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

The Water Fall

The Falls are ever flowing
with its never ending river bestowing.
You can set at watch it  for hours
and envision the temptation it empowers.
The seamless gush to the rocks below,
Makes a shinny silver glow.
You hear the sounds of the rush
but its merely the waters thrush.
The Water Fall is ever living
just as God's word is ever giving.

John 7:38

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

The Lake Today

The fish are jumping In The Lake Today,
The trees are reflecting off The Lake Today,
The crickets are singing near The Lake Today,
The sky is glowing above The Lake Today,
A boy is fishing in The Lake Today,
Birds are singing in the trees by The Lake Today,
What would you do at The Lake Today?

He Soars

As the eagle soars high above the mountain sky,
I can see him clearly in my mind's eye.
The Freedom he symbolizes
and as you continue to watch your almost hypnotized
He'll soon fly back to his home
High upon his throne.
Until once again he soars the  heights of the clouds.

Isaiah 14:14

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

The Old Barn

Cows nestle... In the Old Barn
Horses neigh... In the Old Barn
Mice, rats & bats nest....In the Old Barn
The roof use to be shinny and new...On the Old Barn
The Walls were once Red... On the Old Barn
Now They are worn and tattered... On the Old Barn
The loft use to be full of Hay...In the Old Barn
Kids use to hide and play...In the Old Barn
Today you can see these barns just about anywhere you
drive around the back roads.  Take time to stop and reminisce on
the days when these were a necessity in live, and not the broken down
part of a time forgotten.

                        Luke 12:18

And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

Thursday, July 7, 2011

The next time your lucky enough to find yourself walking near a stream
take the time to enjoy the sound of the water going over the rocks.
The broken tree across the creek, the mossy rock blocking the way,
The mountain laurel ready to bloom.
People spend so much time these days watching TV,
spending time on computers,
Most of these views are just minutes from your home
take the trip to go spend some time viewing God's miraculous nature?

We travel to the beach to see the oceans blue.
They drive here to see the Blue Ridge too.
I don't know which you prefer to see.
But to live here is nothing short of heaven for me.

                                                  Psalms 72:3
The mountains shall bring peace to the
people, and the little hills, by righteousness.

When you travel down a lake.
Narrow is the way, this trail will take.
You'll  see the sun looking through the trees.
And you feel the gentle breeze.
With all this beauty you can go astray.
But if you do, don't worry you'll never loose your way.
With God's touch to guide your hand.
He'll always lead you back to land.

                                         Matthew 7:14
